Shoulder Case 12 Diagnosis

The diagnosis is suspected clinically and confirmed with plain films. The distinctive finding on x ray is that the humeral shaft will be parallel to the spine of the scapula. This is in contrast to more common findings of anterior dislocations, where the arm is adducted and the humeral shaft is parallel with the chest wall.
