Femoral Neck Fracture

AP pelvis film of a patient with left hip pain after a fall.

The same film with Shenton's line added (dotted). After analyzing the surface delineated by the dotted line and comparing to that surface on the right hip, the subtle femoral neck fracture (solid line) is more apparent. (Now go back and look at the unmarked film and the impacted fracture will be more obvious).
